Scientists find evidence of missing neutron star from SN 1987A https://www.sciencedaily.com/releases/2019/11/191119105545.htm ApJ.886.51 Since nobody could find it, different reasons were advanced for why it wasn't there. Some wondered if SN 1987A formed a quark star instead of a neutron star. Another theory suggested that a pulsar was formed instead, and that its magnetic field was small or unusual, preventing us from detecting it. A third possibility was that gas and dust fell back into the neutron star, collapsing it into a black hole. A more prosaic explanation was that it was there, just obscured by so much gas and dust that we can't see it. 现在最后一种解释可能更靠谱了

興福寺的五重塔，摄于奈良公園内。塔高约50米，是仅次于京都东寺五重塔的日本第二高古塔，是古都奈良的象征之一。塔建造后曾6次遭火灾烧毁，被指定为国宝的现在的五重塔是公元1426年重新建造的。塔旁边是东金堂。今年正值兴福寺创建1300周年，五重塔首层和东金堂后堂的国宝正特別公开展示。
